Is your dog the one that scampers across the living room overturning tables and vases at the mention of the word ‘bath’? Do not worry, for you have the Dog-O-Matic to make your dog conspicuously clean and tidy. Designed by Romain Jarry, a French inventor, this machine is to be used as a vending machine, where you can take your dog for a wash. The dog is put inside the automatic dog washing machine where he or she is engulfed in soapy water and is later dried with a blast of hot air. The dog is spotless in 30 minutes-that’s what they say. Already a hit in France, Dog-O-Matic is to be introduced in the UK next year.
Unlike the automatic human washing machine, Avant Santelubain 999, where you are given a chic cleaning experience, with your head outside while your body is pampered inside the machine with steam and aroma, seaweed and what not, in Dog-O-Matic, the dog is completely engulfed in the soapy water.
While veterinary doctors feel that the device is barbaric and that it is cruel to put the little pooches through so much strain just to make them clean, inventor Romain Jarry feels that it would do no harm to the dogs and that they would not get bored. Won’t the spin speeds of the Dog-O-Matic make the pooch woozy? May be we should ask the swirling doggie. But hey, let’s hope that someone doesn’t come up with Man-O-Matic Imagine that!
