Reports gathered from the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, says that every day about 1 billion gallons of water is been used by the state. Hence the state have decided to increase water conservation this year, 2010. With respect to the decision, the department have stated some tips to reduce water wastage. Taps need to be turned off while brushing teeth, washing face, washing machines should be made to run only when they are full, water leakages should be checked regularly and so. Since washing machines and dish washer consume more water, NJ has requested to use only energy conserving machines that consumes very little amount of water.
John Bigelow, president of New Jersey American Water said that public when make small adjustments in their daily routine could help to reduce water wastage in greater extent. He also added that he wants all the people to take the significant resolution of saving water and money for this new year.
