A mother got stupor when she discovered a 5ft long snake curling in her washing machine. Wendy Foley aged 51 couldn’t believe her eyes when she opened her washing machine to load again as she found the orange reptile alive on her clean clothes. It is conceived that the creature when inside when the door was open and overcame a full washing machine cycle.

Ms Foley called police and RSPCA but was told the snake could not be collected until morning. ‘I and my children were petrified the whole night fearing the snake could come out’ sai dthe lady. She even doubted if there could exist more than one.

Jo Barr, spokeswomen of RSPCA said that the snake was non-poisonous. RSPCA has now collected the corn snake and stated that it can grow up to 5ft in length.

Corn snakes are sold for around £30.
