According to the Daejeon police, the boy locked himself inside who later suffocated, the reason being the washing machine could not be opened from inside. LG officer said that since their washing machine bear warning labels, they cannot be blamed for the death. Still they are morally responsible as it was their washing machine that was involved and hence has decided to install a latch so that the door could be opened from inside.

Last Tuesday, LG Electronics made a volunteer recall to selective models of its front loading washing machine for updation. About 1.05 millions of machines are about to be recalled which also includes 2007 models, said an LG offcial. Installing new locks system might cost between 12.7407 EUR to 19.1144 EUR and added that the actual request will be much less in number. The child’s death on LG washing machine being the 3rd accident this year, has forced LG to taken a step forward to prevent further accidents.
