Earlier the combination of treadmill and a washing machine sounded weird but when Zhang Jiayu, a kid from north eastern Liaoning province developed the idea of man powered washing machine, it sounds really great. When this kid found the need for saving energy, which was being consumed in lot by conventional washing machines he decided to develop the idea of treadmill-powered washing machine. This soon resulted in the creation of a washing machine powered by a man running on the top.

Though this idea is not quite practical in the modern world, it is a brilliant thought especially in China where people give more importance to morning exercise. This human-powered washing machine washes clothes without wasting electricity as well as gives the user proper exercise. Earlier, a tricycle -powered washing machine was improvised by some students at Hohai University in Jiangsu province. This is the very first time a young Chinese student had developed a washing machine of this kind.
