A new portable washing machine that requires no power was launched last week in an unusual place at Port Elizebeth. The place was chosen by head of Gerard Pienaar, Washezi Africa which is a community hall where he claimed the washing machine as ‘reinvention’ of machine to suit small loads. The new washing machine has got a capacity of 5.5 kg and can take in only cold water. As usual launches which will be held at luxurious hotels crowed by glamor people participating only in posh events, the launch was quiet different.

The guest were the members belonging to local community of Booysen Park. When Pienaa was questioned regarding this, he said that he sent about 3 people of South Africa to council the local people to bring them to place. The hand operated machine consist of a durable 50 liter drum fitted with leak proof silicon lid that sits up on a metal stand. Within just 5 minutes, the washing process is said ti complete, though it is still doubtful on how this washing machine is going to shine out. Lets all welcome the new Eco friendly washing machine.
