Energy Labelling For Washing Machines
November 23, 2009
The energy labels of the European Union colour code for the washing machines is about to get a reconstruction after an agreement between the EU institutions. As on date, the range of the washing machines varies from A to G, while the new innovation is about the extension of the A grade from A+ to A+++. There is no change in the total number of classes. It remains seven starting from A+++ ending at D. The top grades are represented in dark green while the bottom grade in red.
It is been reported that the most of the members wanted to implement the new change but from the MEPs point of view, they say that the change could create a confusion among the consumers. To put the law in practice, the member states have got ample time for about one year since it is officially published. The change in the new labels is implemented to all the white goods and is said to appear from 2011.
