GE Is About To Begin Smart Laundry Appliances

ge_frontload-washingmachinereviews.org.ukNews from GE says that, In 2012, the Industrial and Consumer division of the company is about to start manufacturing front loading washers and dryers in Louisville that are energy efficient. The upcoming products will be manufactured at the existing facility of the company, the Appliance Park and will implement technology for communication called the Smart Grid.

The new washer and dryer machines are said to have an utility smart meter indicating the energy consumed so far. This can reduce the demand for energy when it is consumed at the peak, providing an useful way for the consumers to decrease their consumption level and save money when cost is calculated using the usage time is in effect. Production of the new washers will commence from third quarter of 2012 while the dryer production will start one year later, on 2013.
