While the race for the greater spin speed in washing machines is still on, LG takes a diversion and introduces the largest capacity washing machine that can wash a maximum load of 11 kg. LG has a reputation of being the first to launch largest capacity washing machines. They were the ones to introduce the first 7 to 9 kg washing machines and now this 11kg washer. For the past 50 years the company has delivered contemporary home appliances incorporating innovative technology.
LG unveiled the world’s largest capacity washing machine, LG F1443KD 11 kg Washing Machine at IFA 2009 Fair, held at Berlin. The IFA is one among the world’s biggest consumer electronics trade shows. With a slight adjustment in the direct drive drum LG has managed to fill up 11 kg wash load into its latest washing machine. This makes your work easier as you can now wash sheets, pillowcases and duvets all in the same wash and thereby getting a huge saving on energy. This washing machine has an A++ rating.
LG has achieved this huge capacity by reducing the space otherwise wasted between the drum and the outer tub. The whole interior was reworked and a new innovative system introduced. The cabinet size remains the same – 24 inches. The company claims that with the new system integrated in the washer, the machine’s durability has increased.
The maximum spin speed of the machine is 1400rpm. The notable features of this washing machine are a 78 litre drum that offers extremely heavy duty loads, an overnight wash cycle, a ‘Silent wash’ programme that seems to be the worlds quietest spin at just 52dB noise level. This washing machine has a automatic load detection mechanism that adjust the water and resources according to the size of the load, hence, proving wrong the general misconception that larger load washing machines consumes more water and energy.
Other significant features are tilted drum, extra large porthole measuring 350mm that enables easy loading and unloading of laundry, steam technology, which is of great advantage to people with allergies because this steam technology eliminates all types of mites and allergens and detergent residue too. LG also claims the machine to be eco-friendly since it consumes 20% less energy than the conventional ‘A’ rated washing machines.
This washing machine will come in colour ranges of White and Black and you can lay your hands on one of these in November.
