To increase the sales of washing machines in the European markets, Samsung Electronics had bought a manufacturing facility for about US$76 million at Poland. This facility is said to function as a production base for the European markets. The contract says that Samsung will set up a secured site for the factory and assemble lines for the production of washing machine while the working force is got from Amica, the polish home appliance maker.
On this procurement, Samsung has attained an international production basis at six major countries including Poland, Mexico, Thailand, India, China and Malaysia. The new manufacturing unit is said to produce large drum washing machines aiming the European markets. Shin Sang-heung, who is the European operation’s vice president said that the union of Samsung Technology with the hardworking human resources of Polish will definitely make Samsung to lead the European home appliance market very soon.
